Climate Change Blues
The oil, the machine, the plastic,
motors, petrol, aeroplanes,
coal fires, palm oil, synthetics,
acid rain,
and
deforestation
were
not
the
problem
ever
because it was you and me, man.

We stopped nurturing the earth
silenced the niggling voices
sought the highest prices
and sold so many species short.
They spoke, clearly stating;
they said, clarity seeking,
we will reduce emissions
but they meant
when
it
suits
us.

Now, the emergency breaks out
like the ice breaking off the poles
it flows like the melting ice caps
and tight lipped politicians
speak, clearly stating,
say, clarity seeking,
and commence
too little,
too little,
too
late.
